Caribbean flavours09 Aug

On Saturday a group of sutdents joined Wendi Jarrett to recreate some of the delicious flavours from the Caribbean. The students prepared Jerked pork from the Portland on the east coast of Jamaica, Eschoveich Fish – seasoned cooked fish with a spicy vinegar marinade, aubergine rundown a tasty dish with spiced tomato and coconut sauce, all topped off with traditional Jamaican fried dumplings. After enjoying a fantastic lunch the sutdents then went on to create their own salsa dishes. Thanks to Wendi for a fabulous day.

The next Caribbean course will run on Saturday 3 September – book your place

I would like to thank the school for a fantastic day…
Both Wendy and Wendi were great… and for me the day was a wonderful experience.
If you are looking for a boring classroom experience this is not for you…. From the moment you arrive you are looked after with fine coffee and made to feel very at home nothing is too much trouble for them.
The studio and its best to call it that as it most certainly is not a kitchen or class room, is state of the art… wonderfully equipped with fantastic attention to detail, if they don’t have it… give them a few moments and even in this sleepy village the most strange ingredients can be found!
Best of all the day is intuitive very relaxing and even the most bumbling ham fisted person (yup me) can be proud of the achievements they make, you are made to feel part of everything am most certainly not taught to but helped along in a most professional manner.

    Gary,

Thanks for the lovely feedback, so glad you enjoyed the day. I did too and it was mazing to have a group from such a wide spread across England … Harrowgate to London! I hope you are enjoying using your experience from the Caribbean cookery course and trying out those recipes on your friends and family (will you pass their test)! I hope you have many enjoyable meals to share with them and we (at The Shires) see you again in the near future).

    Walk good,
    Wendi
